Amy Green is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the College of Education's Department of Teaching & Learning, Policy & Leadership at the University of Maryland, College Park. With over twenty years of experience in formal, nonformal, and higher education, Dr. Green's work focuses on advancing science and STEM education for the 21st century, emphasizing culturally responsive and inclusive climate science, sustainability, and environmental literacy in both student and teacher education.
Her work seeks to bring fresh perspectives on our connections with nature and how scientific methods are approached in science education through the inclusion of non-dominant perspectives into learning experiences typically dominated by Western worldviews. She is a member of the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Advisory Committee and serves as the Science & Research representative on the Mallows Bay-Potomac National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council. She is actively involved in the University of Maryland System Environmental Literacy Coalition as well as the Mid-Atlantic Climate Change Education Coalition & Conference.
